Since 1955, the World Press Photo Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Amsterdam, has organized an international competition for photojournalism and documentary photography.

The 2022 edition is characterized by the institution of regional prizes (i.e. 6 regions: Africa, Asia, Oceania and Southeast Asia, North and Central America, South America and Europe) which will reward 24 winners among the tens of thousands of applications sent.

The photographs published in the book are reflecting the depth and complexity of the work of photojournalists, as close as possible to the vicissitudes of current events. Each of the photographs helps to anchor the shown event in immediate history, in our memories and beyond.

The catalog of this new edition will present the photographs of the winners of the World Press Photo 2022 prize, the announcement of which will take place on March 24, 2022 during the award ceremony.
